Summer Fellowship & Family Fun
Join Vine Street for a night of dinner and games Sunday, June 10 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Hot dogs, chips, fruit, and drinks will be provided, just bring your favorite board or card game and your competitive spirit! This is part of our summer of fun for children and children of all ages!

Learn About the ‘Givenness of Things’ this Summer
As Disciples of Christ, we don’t check our brains at the church door! That’s one of the reasons the adult Christian education group will be reading this summer The Givenness of Things: Essays, by the award-winning author Marilynne Robinson (Gilead, for example).
“A sense of wonder pervades the powerful essays,” says another provocative writer, Karen Armstrong, about The Givenness of Things in the New York Times Book Review. “Robinson's heroic lamentation is magnificent… [her] insistence, throughout these essays, that we recognize the limitations of our knowledge, is timely and important.” One of Time’s top nonfiction books of 2015, there’s no doubt conversation will be lively starting June 3. Pick up a copy at your favorite retailer in paperback or digital form, and then make plans to join in Sundays at 9 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.
The Lucky One
Join Vine Street at the Movies on June 6 for a showing of the film Logan Lucky. Two southern brothers stage an Ocean’s Eleven-type heist with the help of the less than competent Bang brothers, a “gang” led by the very non–suave and non-sophisticated Daniel Craig. (Rated PG-13). Everyone will meet in the Bride’s Room at 7 p.m. that evening.
Seeking Caregivers in the Nursery
On June 17 and June 24 we are in need of volunteers for the church nursery. Special people are needed to assist from 9:30 to 11:15 am on those Sundays. Volunteers will be helping rock babies, stack blocks, read books, and play with play-dough.
