Financial Report July, 2010

The reality for the status of the operation budget is that our deficit is $21, 295 for the first six months of 2010.

On a positive note, our members have honored their pledges. Through six months we have received 97% of our pledged revenue.  Expenses remain 11% under budget.  Both of these are accomplishments we should be proud of.  The cloud is the deficit that we knew going into this year.  Another positive accomplishment is we have met our commitment to the Disciples Mission Fund with contributions of $9945.

Above are the numbers for the operation budget.  Just as important is the need to generate contributions to fund programs and changes that were prayerfully considered through the Journey process.  These will be the future of our church.  The Board continues discussion on how to meet our financial needs.

I’m somewhat confused, What was the deficit that we knew about going into the year again? If Pledges are on track and expenses are below projections than how are we 21k behind? What is the plan to make up this deficit, other than more pledges or donations?
