Summer Sunday School Reminder

Through August 18, all children's classes will meet in the Youth Room for music with Beth and John Marshall, Bible stories with Hope and camp games with the teenagers!

All ages are invited to the youth wing at 9:30am where the teenagers will be serving homemade waffles with powdered sugar and sticky maple syrup. A yummy waffle plus coffee and juice is only $5. Seating will be available in the Fitz house, youth room and in the courtyard. All children's classes will meet together during July and the first half of August for Summer Sunday School. Grab your blanket! Pack a pillow! Bring a snack! Head over to the band shell at Centennial Park. The cartoon starts at 8 pm and the main feature begins around 8:15 pm. The Vine Street tarp will be strategically placed by 6 pm.

Come early so we have time for chatting, frisbee, hackey sack and registering for prizes.

Waffle Sunday

Pretend you're on vacation and leave the breakfast to us! The Youth Group will be preparing waffles, coffee and juice for your dining pleasure. Bring your appetite and $5 for a delicious breakfast with your church family.

LIFE SAVER CAMP June 1-5

LIFE SAVER CAMP @ Vine Street

This day camp is a partnership between the American Red Cross and Vine Street Christian Church. The Lifesaver Camp includes: Adult CPR, Child/Infant CPR, First Aid, Babysitter Training or Sport Safety and Disaster and Blood Services Education. There is also a recreation period built into the daily schedule. At the conclusion of the camp, (Friday at 4 pm) there will be a family picnic including an awards ceremony and video presentation from our week together.

When: June 1-4th, 2010 (9am-4pm daily-Campers need to arrive at 9 am; however, they can leave anytime between 3 and 4 pm.)

Who: This camp is for 11-15 year old students. Please send an email to hope@vinestreet.org if you need an exception. We're somewhat flexible.

Cost: $145 per camper which includes certificates, t-shirt, daily snack and family picnic. If you have more than one camper in your family, the fee is $130 each. (Campers bring a sack lunch each day.)

Location: Vine Street Christian Church, 4101 Harding Rd., Nashville, TN 37205 (next door to MBA)

To enroll: complete this online registration form and bring your check the first day of camp. You will receive a confirmation email with additional information. We need 15 campers for this camp to succeed. Please feel free to forward this information to others.

100+ Counselors Needed @ Bethany Hills

The children and teenagers of TN need over a hundred counselors to volunteer their time this summer.

July 19-23, 2010 (Vine St. Staff/Youth Group arrives on July 18th)

PLAY Camp is a Christian camp adventure for 4th-7th grade girls and boys who are interested in adding to their outdoor experiences at Bethany Hills.

We're doubling the adventure by staffing PLAY Camp with the youth group from Vine Street Christian Church. This is our Mission Trip to Nashville...ok, Mission Trip to Kingston Springs. The VSCC teenagers will create and implement this camping adventure for children from across Tennessee. Keep reading for an explanation of the camp. Make sure you put this on your summer calendar!

PLAY Camp offers two tracks: outdoor adventures or art experiences. The campers following the outdoor adventures track will have the opportunity to camp out, cook-out, hike, and canoe. The campers following the art track will experience ways to incorporate nature into art projects such as painting, photography and film. All campers will participate in Bible study and worship with the whole group.

This camp has a limited enrollment and a predetermined number of slots for boys and girls. Campers will be accepted on a first-come basis. (PLAY Camp is not a substitute for Junior Camp or ChiRho Camp. Each camper is expected to participate in their age-appropriate camp in addition to PLAY Camp.)

Nashville Earth Day Celebration: Saturday, April 17th

As soon as we finish with the TNT party at 3:30 pm, the youth group will carpool to Centennial Park for an afternoon of celebration, education and live music. It's the Nashville Earth Day Celebration. Bring a couple bucks for a snack or drink.

This is a good day to wear a Cool People Care shirt, a Vine Street shirt or other clothes with a creation friendly message.

Have your ride plan on picking you up at the Sportsplex at 6:45 pm.

TNT Club Talent Show: Saturday, April 17

Welcome to the TNT Club Talent Show! It's where American Idol meets the local Disciple church. We'll have our own panel of judges offering words of inspiration and support to all performers and guests.

If you have a talent to share, we would love to put you on stage.

What? No talent? That's not possible. Everyone is needed as audience members.

Talent + Cake + Ice Cream = a Great Saturday afternoon

The Talent Show will be held in the fellowship hall from 2-3:30 pm.

Volunteers and the youth group are needed from 1:30-4 pm.
