Monday Update

Buddy Barnes is at St. Thomas for some additional tests. He was admitted late on Saturday, but is likely to go home on Tuesday.

Pam Lyle asks for prayers for her friend Sandra who is battling breast cancer.

Jack Wallace asks for prayers for two good friends; one just suffered a heart attack, the other is scheduled for a biopsy after a mammogram.

Doug Branson asks for prayers for his stepmother and dad. She has a form of early-onset dementia.

We apologize that these notes are somewhat incomplete. Somebody recycled Thomas's bulletin and notes on Sunday, before he had a chance to take them to his desk.

Monday Update

On Sunday we welcomed new members Doug Branson and Caitie Reid. Welcome to Vine Street! 

Joseph and Louise Bambo were married on Saturday. Congratulations!

Bradley Biter is the infant grand-daughter of Charlie's brother. She has a liver condition, and we pray for her to be well.

We ask for prayers for the people of Iran in the aftermath of the earthquake, especially the families of the victims.

We ask for prayers for the many whose lives are impacted by the long-term drought in this country, especially farmers and ranchers.

We ask for prayers for public leaders of Sumner County as they struggle to find a way out of a budget crisis. Keeping schools closed is not good policy.

Congratulations, Sarahann!

Sarahann Callaway received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Belmont University School of Physical Therapy on Friday. She was chosen by the faculty to speak at the commencement ceremony. Sarahann has accepted a job with Medtravelers and will be moving to Fort Worth, Texas on August 15th to start her first assignment. She wishes to thank everyone at Vine Street for their love and support over this endeavor. Congratulations, Sarahann! Send her an e-mail

Monday Update

We continue to pray for the people of Syria and an end to the violent conflict.

We learned that Lee Fleshood died on July 31; he was 70 years old. obituary

Cliff Goidel, grandson of Jane and Bob, will have knee surgery on Wednesday.

It was good to see Michele Munson, Gabriella, and Isaac in worship on Sunday. They still live in St. Louis, but were in town to visit.

John Reed joined the Air National Guard; Andrew Reed is continuing his training now in Missouri.

 

 

Thank you for your prayers

We continue to keep Alex Cauthen in our prayers. On Friday, he will meet his new Doctor and will receive and review his most recent set of medical tests. 

We pray for comfort and safe travels for Allen Parker who is headed home to New York for hospice care. Allen was recently a patient at St. Thomas hospital and has asked for our prayers.

Howard Evans

Howard Evans died on Friday evening, July 6. He was 87 years old. The burial will be on Monday, July 9, and we will celebrate his life with a memorial service at the church that same day. Visitation will begin at 11:30am in the sanctuary, and the service will follow at noon.

Rob McRight's dad

We received the sad news that Rob's dad died on July 4 after a long struggle with cancer. Rob is still serving with the Navy JAG in Florida, but he is currently in North Carolina to be with his family. Thank you for remembering them in your prayers.

Monday Update

The Forstman family is now also mourning the death of Ryan Forstman, age 25. His body was found on Sunday, and it appears he died from complications after a drug overdose. Ryan was the son of Paul, and grandson of Shirley.

Jane Goidel is recuperating from shoulder surgery she had on Sunday. She had fractured her left shoulder, and we are grateful that the injury only involved bones and could be repaired with screws and a plate. Jane is scheduled to be discharged on Tuesday, and she will begin physical therapy on Wednesday.

Sophia

Chris and Helen Trabue ask for prayers for their friends, the Battle family, and especially their youngest daughter, Sophia, who has a brain tumor. They live in Johnson City and are on their way to St. Jude hospital where she will have surgery later this week.
