More about Dr. Levine
Dr. Amy-Jill Levine is the Rabbi Stanley M. Kessler Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace and a leading scholar in biblical studies and Jewish–Christian relations. An internationally recognized lecturer and author, she has received major academic honors and grants, including election to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and made history as the first Jew to teach New Testament at Rome’s Pontifical Biblical Institute. Levine has held leadership roles in major scholarly societies and authored or edited numerous influential books on the Bible, Jesus, and early Christianity, including The Misunderstood Jew, Short Stories by Jesus, and The Jewish Annotated New Testament. She currently serves as New Testament editor for the Oxford Biblical Commentary Series and continues to publish widely for both academic and general audiences.
