Risley & Elizabeth

Congratulations! Friday, October 22, is Risley and Elizabeth Lawrence's 68th wedding anniversary. Yes, that's sixty-eight years. We wish them a wonderful day of celebration and a year of blessings. Elizabeth has been a member of Vine Street for as long as she's been married, and Risley for eighty-one years, and what a blessing they have been to us and to many.

Caleb Brown

Caleb is a toddler from Nashville who was hit by a falling boulder in Fall Creek Falls Park on Saturday. The Lyons family witnessed the tragic accident, and we are grateful that Melissa (she's a pediatric intensive care nurse) was able to help. Caleb suffered head injuries and is hospitalized in Chattanooga. Thank you for your prayers for Caleb and his family.

Two babies

Great news from Donna B. Woods!

"While trying to move back into my house last week, the unexpected happened. My granddaughter was due Nov. 5, but decided to join us four weeks early.  She is healthy and fine.  I was on the next plane to Austin and stayed four nights. Of course, I didn't want to come home. Molly Kate Barr was born to my son, James, and Beth Barr of Austin, TX.  She weighed 6 lbs. 9 oz. andis 19 in. long. James and Beth were married at Vine Street in 2002. Proud Grandmother: Donna Woods; Great Grandfather: Chris Barr
Two days later Vaughn became a grandfather. Christopher Marek Woods was born to Chris and Emily Woods. Life continues to change, but these little people are such positives instead of new challenges!"

Jim Foglesong is recuperating at home after a recent fall.

Janis Wootten's mother, Monica Moulton, is in rehab at West Meade Place after breaking her pelvis recently; she is looking forward to returning to Park Manor soon.

Monday update

Jim Foglesong went home on Saturday. Tests ruled out several serious causes for his fall, and we are grateful that he is back on his feet and regaining his strength.

Janis Wootten's mother, Monica Moulton is now at West Meade Place for rehabilitation and continues to work toward her goal of returning home to Park Manor.

Our friends in New Zealand, Lyndsay, Lorraine, and Phillippa Jacobs, are well after the recent earthquake. No one was injured, and the damage to their home was minimal. They will send a more complete report once power has been restored. The epicenter of the quake was only 7 miles from Lyndsay and Lorraine's home.
