Joyce had a bad bout with the flu the other night and passed out. When she awoke she had either a broken ankle or torn tendons. She will have x-rays on Monday, and she's upset that she can't go walking. Please keep her in your prayers.
David and Sara Tarpley have a new grandson, Elias James Miller, born December 5, 2010, in Lewiston, Maine, to our daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Nic Miller.
Today's the day: Paul and Mary Ann are moving to Colorado. David is driving the truck, Colleen is following in the car.
We wish them safe travels and all the best for this new chapter of their life.

Many of you will remember them. They are an older couple in Bellevue that we helped during the flood. Remember Mr. Malone's tool shed? Well, just yesterday, they were moving back into their house. They had been living in a camper in their back yard all summer and fall. The house has been totally renovated. Mr. Malone said it was very cold that last night in the camper, but now they are back in the house that is nice and warm. The Malones were helped by many churches Vine Street, Christ Church, St. Henry, Bellevue Baptist, and even Disciples from Kentucky. One of the Malones' daughters told Kathy Zamata that the folks from Kentucky even sent them something on their anniversary. Thanks to Vine Street for all the hard work. What a happy time this is!
Ed Cole, executive director of the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee, has received the 2010 Distinguished Service Award from the Tennessee Chapter of the American Planning Association.
We remember Jim in our prayers as he is mourning the death of his cousin and good friend, Robert Crankshaw. Robert died early Sunday morning.
Kay fell on Thanksgiving and broke her right shoulder and arm. She is scheduled for joint replacement surgery on Dec 6 in McMinnville. Kay is Dorothy Roach's daughter.
Paul and Mary Ann will move to Colorado very soon, where they will live in a retirement community near their daughter's home. They have started packing, and you can imagine that this is a significant and difficult transition for them and their family. Please keep them in your prayers. We will send them off with our blessings and prayers for God's blessing on Sunday, December 5, during the 10:45am worship service.
Congratulations to Wayne and Pam Lyle, who celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary on Sunday.
Hope & Bruce will have to wait a little. Their first wedding anniversary will be on Saturday, November 26, 2011. What a wonderful wedding it was!
Jim Foglesong had outpatient surgery on Nov 22 to repair a rotator cuff. Everything went well, and he is recuperating at home.
Pat Bentrup asks for prayers for her friend, Carolyn; she has cancer and the prognosis is discouraging.
Julia Keith asks for prayers for their neighbor, Todd; he has brain cancer.
Melba Baxter's aunt Janelle Bradford died this week. Visitation will be held Friday at 3pm and the service at 4pm, at the Spann Funeral Home in Dickson.
Catherine Adams is in St. Thomas with pneumonia.
Carolyn Binkley is in St. Thomas recuperating from knee replacement surgery.
Lyn Dorris's mother is in St. Thomas recuperating from shoulder replacement surgery.

Bob Binkley is expecting test results for prostate cancer Nov 21 and colon cancer Dec 6.
Margaret Netterville is recuperating at home after breaking her foot in a fall.
Helen Trabue's grandfather has been in the hospital recently due to a heart condition.
Jennie Fleshood has recently learned that she has breast cancer. She is currently deciding what course of treatment to pursue. Jennie was a member of our congregation for many years, serving as a member of the choir, a deacon, and an elder; she now lives in Vero Beach, FL. We pray for strength of body, mind, and spirit for Jennie in the weeks and months ahead.

Congratulations! Friday, October 22, is Risley and Elizabeth Lawrence's 68th wedding anniversary. Yes, that's sixty-eight years. We wish them a wonderful day of celebration and a year of blessings. Elizabeth has been a member of Vine Street for as long as she's been married, and Risley for eighty-one years, and what a blessing they have been to us and to many.
Dorothy is getting weaker by the day. She continues to stay at Richland Place, and is now receiving medication to keep her comfortable. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
Caleb is a toddler from Nashville who was hit by a falling boulder in Fall Creek Falls Park on Saturday. The Lyons family witnessed the tragic accident, and we are grateful that Melissa (she's a pediatric intensive care nurse) was able to help. Caleb suffered head injuries and is hospitalized in Chattanooga. Thank you for your prayers for Caleb and his family.
