Josephine Gay
We remember Josephine Gay, 7 and all who love her. She was killed on Friday, December 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
We are mourning the loss of all the children and adults who were killed that day. Our capacity to take in and process such a tragedy is very limited. Most of our media offer us a lot of information within a very narrow time frame, and we know that after only a few days our attention will be drawn to other events, thoughts, and conversations.
We attempt to remember those who have died and all who love them, and to allow that memory to shape our prayers as well as our thinking. Each Sunday, we speak one of the names in worship, and this practice will take until sometime in June. We take time to process this violent loss and to consider possible consequences.

James G. Fulmer
"Police have identified the homeless man found dead Thursday morning outside a church in East Nashville. Authorities said James G. Fulmer, 50, had reportedly been sleeping on a small covered porch near a side entrance of Crystal Fountain Church at South 10th and Russell streets. The freezing temperatures likely contributed to his death as the low temperature early Thursday in Nashville was 25 degrees." Read more
