Emilie Parker

We remember Emilie Parker, 6 and all who love her. She was killed on Friday, December 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

We are mourning the loss of all the children and adults who were killed that day. Our capacity to take in and process such a tragedy is very limited. Most of our media offer us a lot of information within a very narrow time frame, and we know that after only a few days our attention will be drawn to other events, thoughts, and conversations.

We attempt to remember those who have died and all who love them, and to allow that memory to shape our prayers as well as our thinking. Each Sunday, we speak one of the names in worship, and this practice will take until sometime in June. We take time to process this violent loss and to consider possible consequences.

Monday Update

Erica Well had to stay home on Sunday due to illness. We hope and pray that she will feel much better soon.

The Catholic Chuch is in the process of choosing the next pope. We may not agree with their hierarchical structure, but we join in prayer with our Catholic brothers and sisters for the work of the Cardinals who will elect the new Bishop of Rome. May the be open to the guidance and wisdom of God's Spirit.
