Jim Foglesong memorial service
The memorial service for Jim will be on Tuesday, July 16 at 1pm at Vine Street Christian Church.
Many people will want to attend the service, so we ask that members and friends car-pool to church so the parking lot will not fill up with single-occupant vehicles. Barely anyone will notice this gesture, but it's a generous act of hospitality nevertheless. Thank you!
Following the service, there will be a reception in the fellowship hall to give family members and friends an opportunity to visit.
Jim Foglesong
Jim Foglesong passed away this morning. We will have a memorial service at Vine Street, but a date and time still have to be determined. Thank you for your prayers for Toni and the family and for all who will miss this fine gentleman and friend.

Ted Lee's back surgery went well this morning. He's expected to be discharged today, and we hope that he'll soon be free of pain. Thank you for keeping him and Sondra in your prayers.
Micah Snow asks for our prayers for his grandmother, Doris Snow. She was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and has begun receiving chemotherapy.
Phoenix Jett Wilson was born on Monday afternoon, July 1, weighing 8 lbs 14 oz. His parents are Angie and Greg; they and their children have been worshiping with us in recent months. Welcome to the world, Phoenix!

Jim Foglesong continues to be hospitalized.
Betty Hare
John Shuler's sister-in-law, Betty Hare, died Wednesday, June 19. Her funeral will be held Saturday. Betty was Debra's sister, and Kennedy and Grant's "Aunt Betty Lynn." Please keep the family in your prayers.
Jim Berhow
Please keep the Berhow family in your prayers as they grieve the death of Brian's father, Jim Berhow. He died early Monday morning, June 17th. The memorial service is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd in Murray, KY.
Jim Foglesong
We ask for prayers for Jim and Toni during what will hopefully be a brief hospitalization for Jim. He fell and hit his head pretty hard on Saturday morning, but fortunately didn't suffer any serious injuries.
Nancy Lanza
We remember Nancy Lanza and all who love her. She was the mother of the young man who killed twenty children and six women on Friday, December 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
We are mourning the loss of all the children and adults who were killed that day. Our capacity to take in and process such a tragedy is very limited. Most of our media offer us a lot of information within a very narrow time frame, and we know that after only a few days our attention will be drawn to other events, thoughts, and conversations.
We attempt to remember those who have died and all who love them, and to allow that memory to shape our prayers as well as our thinking. Each Sunday, we have spoken one of the names in worship, allowing our hearts to process this violent loss and to consider what we might do in response.
Orlan Lorton
Orlan Lorton Jr., the grandfather of Helen Trabue and Malinda Moseley, died peacefully on Thursday, June 13. We keep Helen, Malinda and all who are grieving in our prayers.
Tuesday update
Joe Keith's mother, Ollie Thompson had a successful surgery; everything went well. Thank you for your continuing prayers as she begins the rehabilitation process, first at Stallworth and later at The Meadows.
Linda Parker's surgery went well, and Grant is with her. We hold her in prayer as she awaits pathology reports, which may take up to ten days.
Monday update
Linda Parker is having surgery today.
Ollie Thompson, Joe Keith's mother, is also having surgery today.
Shelly Tilton is back in the hospital for tests.
Allison Wyatt

Will Campbell
Anything we could say here, would be too little. Will Campbell died last night; he was 88 years old. We are grateful for his life and witness.
Pat Bentrup
Pat asks for prayers for her son, Keith and his fiancee, who will be married on Saturday. Best wishes to them!

Shelly Tilton
We're grateful that Shelly was finally discharged from the hospital on May 30. We hope she will continue to get better!
Viola Sigmon
First she was in a bit of a hurry (two weeks early), and then apparently she said to herself, "What's the rush?" Viola Sigmon was born just after midnight on May 29. She is beautiful, with the most elegant baby hands the preacher has ever seen! She weighs about 6 pounds and we forgot to ask for her length in inches - but who wants to know that anyway when there's such an angelic face to behold? Congratulations, Casey and Phill, and welcome to the world, Viola!
