Beth Douglas Kelly

Beth Kelly, age 37, daughter of John and Debra Shuler, Kennedy and Grant’s stepsister, died Tuesday of complications related to open-heart surgery for a malignant tumor. Beth’s husband Chris and two young children survive her in Smyrna, Georgia. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Gary Holloway

Gary Holloway, our friend and executive director of World Convention, is on a teaching assignment in Swaziland, in southern Africa. We pray for Gary and his traveling companions, Africa and World Convention (which makes its homebase on our campus).

The Todd Family

Reeta Parks and her family ask for prayer for their friends, the family of Beth and Jason Todd. Their 3-year-old daughter Logan Lea has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Reeta asks that we hold in prayer this family, plus their extended family and friends, as they cope with this devastating news.

Pat Bentrup

Pat Bentrup has had another setback. She is asking us for prayer on the heels of learning she has a broken jaw. Regrettably, she suffered this injury when she fell recently, but the break went undetected. May God grant Pat healing and peace for a tired spirit. If you would like to send her a card or note of encouragement, but don’t have her address, please contact Rev. Greg Rumburg.

Paul & Mary Ann Johnson

David Johnson, director of Bethany Hills Camp & Conference Center and a longtime friend of Vine Street Christian Church, asks for prayers for his parents. Paul & Mary Ann Johnson, also longtime friends of the church, must move from their independent living community in Estes Park, Colorado, due to Paul’s difficult memory challenges. We pray for God’s guidance as the family seeks to find an appropriate community for them to live in, perhaps in Colorado or Nashville.

Beth Douglas Kelly

John Shuler asks that we please lift up in prayer Beth Douglas Kelly. She is John and Debra Shuler’s daughter and Kennedy and Grant Shuler’s stepsister. Beth was recently diagnosed with a rare cardiac tumor and faces open heart surgery in Houston Friday. Following that will be months of recovery and treatment in Atlanta, where she lives with her husband, Chris, and two children.

Keith Hall

Brooke Hall asks for prayers for her family, especially for Keith Hall, her father. The Halls have experienced several losses recently. Then, last night, the Blanco River in Texas overflowed its banks. Keith’s nearby home was flooded; many meaningful possessions were lost. Hoping for new beginnings, Keith had just moved to Texas the week before from Florida. We pray for God’s strength and courage through these losses and transitions—believing still in new beginnings.

Casey Sigmon

Casey Sigmon will soon travel to Copenhagen, Denmark to lecture, teach, and preach in association with the Danish Festival of Homiletics. It is quite an honor and a gift to be invited to participate in that prestigious conference! Casey, who is 6 months pregnant with Viola's sibling, asks for our prayers for health and safety while abroad.
