Friday prayers

Jane Short is recuperating from back surgery. We join her and Brock and their family in praying for a speedy recovery.

Randy Halstead’s mom, Bobbie Halstead, passed away this morning on Thursday morning at age 89, with family at her bedside. Randy and Jackie were able to see her one last time before returning to Nashville on Wednesday night. Thank you for continuing to hold them and the whole family in prayer.

Ruth Skinner is feeling very lonely due to pandemic-related visitation restrictions. Talking with her on the phone can be difficult (her phone uses voice to text technology so she can read what people are saying, and it doesn’t always work well), but she loves hearing from you. Her address is

8207 Highway 100, Apt. 215
Nashville, TN 37221

Ted Parks

Ted’s mother, Mackie Sue Parks, died this morning in Chattanooga at age 86. She suffered from Alzheimer’s and breathed her last while having breakfast with her husband, Buddy. Ted is on his way to Chattanooga to be with his dad and the rest of the family. Thank you for keeping them and all who love Mackie Sue in your prayers.

April Hefner

Greg Rumburg asks for our prayers for April. She is recovering very well from her hip surgery earlier this spring. However, she had surgery this morning for an unrelated matter. She's doing well this afternoon and is grateful for surrounding her with our prayers as she begins the recovery process.

Pat Cole

On Friday evening, Pat wasn’t feeling well and she noticed numbness in her left arm and leg. She and Ed went to the ER and learned that she had experienced an afib event and a TIA (“mini stroke”). She has fully recovered from the TIA, and there’s a good chance she will return home today or tomorrow. With Pat and Ed, we are grateful for this good outcome of a scary episode!

Joe Keith

Joe Keith had chemo treatment #8 on Thursday. In two weeks, he will have a PET CT scan to see how everything is going. His doctor says things are looking really good and he expects a very favorable result. For Joe, It's going to be a long two week wait for the PET CT scan, so let’s pray for him and his family, and that the results will be as encouraging as hoped for!

Alec Miller and family

Please surround the Millers with your prayers. They suspect they got infected with COVID, but tests came back negative twice. Now their doctor suspects that Alec may be infected anyway. Alec asks for our prayers, “that I get better from covid complications and for our family to being able to manage things as we work through it all.”

Joyce Crowell

Thank you for continuing to remember Joyce in your prayers. Her recovery from a recent heart procedure has not been a smooth and quick as anyone had hoped, to put it mildly. Now there is infection in the lining of her heart. We hope with her and Sherry that she will soon make a full recovery.
