Family tragedy at Woodmont
With a heavy heart we share this update from our sister congregation by Rev. Clay Stauffer. Thank you for your prayers for the families.
Woodmont Family,
You may have seen this story on the news . One of our elders and Sunday School teachers, Jeff Kinman, owns a landscaping company called Old South. Thursday afternoon at about 4:30 PM, one of his crews ran into a tractor-trailer on Interstate 40. Two were killed immediately in the accident, and two were taken to Vanderbilt. A third has passed away early Friday morning at Vanderbilt. Only the driver has survived.
These workers have families and small children. Jeff has always cared deeply about his employees and their families. I am starting a special fund today at Woodmont to help them called “The Old South Benevolent Fund.” If you can give anything to it, it would be greatly appreciated.
Here are their first names:

Thank you,

Linda Parker
Linda Parker spent most of Saturday in the Emergency Room and was diagnosed with COVID. She shared on Facebook, “I’m home. Have to quarantine for 10 days. I’m frustrated and weary. Say some prayers and know how much I appreciate them and you.” Thank you for your prayers.

Linda Parker
Thank you for continuing to remember Linda Parker in your prayers. Recent tests showed that her cancer is growing, so her medical team is researching other treatment options. On Monday, she will have a stent in her kidney replaced - a procedure she undergoes every three months.
Erica Hayden
Erica Hayden is scheduled to have gallbladder surgery on Monday, February 1. “I'm not really worried about the surgery - more about the recovery and lifting restrictions with a baby/toddler at home!” Please remember Erica in your prayers. We will let you know if we can assist the family in other ways during Erica’s recovery.
Jack Wallace
Jack Wallace will have a procedure this afternoon to remove a stuck kidney stone. Jack was recovering from another surgical procedure when this stone made its presence painfully known. With Jack and Joanne, we hope that the less invasive procedure, using ultra sound waves, will be successful
Moseley family
Please keep the Moseleys in your prayers. Stephen has tested positive for COVID and has been quite ill, including a trip to the ER yesterday. Fortunately, he didn’t need to be hospitalized. Malinda received a negative test result today, but suspects it may be a false negative. The whole family will be in quarantine for a few days. Katie will set up a mealtrain, and we will share that information via e-news and facebook.
