Allison's favorite snack, and other news

Last Sunday, our members affirmed the call to Allison Ruari to serve as our Associate Minister. Allison will begin her ministry with us on November 15! She and her husband, Jared are now in the middle of the million things that come with relocating to Nashville. We are very much looking forward to welcoming Allison on Sunday, November 18, but we also want to give them a little time to arrive and settle in before we make plans for her installation and other big occasions. However, we will all have an opportunity to finally meet her in person and begin to get to know her on Sunday, November 1, after worship, at a simple reception—nothing formal, just Allison’s favorite snack. What might that be? Toasted almonds? Cereal balls? Pudding cups? Skittles? Piglets in the blanket? Well, favorite snacks will tell you a lot about a person. Allison loves hummus, veggies, and pita chips. So we’ll have ourselves a hummus dippin’ party! We hope you’ll join us and say hello to Allison.

Together in Gratitude - Together in Song

On Sunday, November 18, the Temple (5015 Harding Pike) will host a concert with choirs, groups, and soloists from various Nashville congregations. We are thrilled that our Chancel Choir will again participate in this musical celebration of unity and diversity! The evening begins with a reception at 7pm, followed by the concert at 7:30 pm. If you’re in town, come and join us for this lovely Thanksgiving tradition!

Tailgate with us

Vine Street football fans will tailgate at 5:00 p.m. on McGugin Lawn, next to the tennis courts and across the street from the baseball stadium. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. $10/person covers the ticket and tailgate for folks age 15 or older. Our young ones are free. You may bring a dessert to share with the group. Thanks to Jeff Miller and the membership committee for coordinating this much-loved event!
