Monday Update

The Forstman family is now also mourning the death of Ryan Forstman, age 25. His body was found on Sunday, and it appears he died from complications after a drug overdose. Ryan was the son of Paul, and grandson of Shirley.

Jane Goidel is recuperating from shoulder surgery she had on Sunday. She had fractured her left shoulder, and we are grateful that the injury only involved bones and could be repaired with screws and a plate. Jane is scheduled to be discharged on Tuesday, and she will begin physical therapy on Wednesday.

Sophia

Chris and Helen Trabue ask for prayers for their friends, the Battle family, and especially their youngest daughter, Sophia, who has a brain tumor. They live in Johnson City and are on their way to St. Jude hospital where she will have surgery later this week.

Al Smith

Al is currently a resident at the Health Center at Richland Place. He will move to a small apartment in another wing of the complex early next week, if renovations etc. go as planned. We will work on transportation arrangements for him to come to worship with us on Sunday mornings. He was very happy when he got a card in the mail from his Chapel friends and sends his Thank You!

Futbol!

Elizabeth and Emily Crenshaw's soccer team, Harpeth Futbol Club Girls '95, won the Division 2 State Championship last weekend.

They will be headed to Charlotte, NC this weekend to play in the Regional Tournament with State Champions from 12 neighboring states.

Way to go, Emily and Elizabeth!

Tuesday update

Pat Bentrup (whose recovery from knee replacement is little short of miraculous) asks for prayers for her daugther-in-law, Lauren and her family. Lauren has a serious thyroid problem and is taking radio active capsules for it. She cannot be near her children ages 2 & 4 for several days. Pat also asks for prayers for grand-daughter Greta who will have her First Communion on Sunday (in Corpus Christi, Florida).

Lyn Dorris asks for prayers for her friend, Julie; she has cancer and is scheduled for surgery on Friday.

Julia Matthews asks for prayers for Aaron and his family. Aaron was a former classmate of hers and he died on Friday at age 15. Julia and her classmates remember him with great fondness and miss him.

Thomas and Nancy ask for prayers for their friend, Sean McDonald. He was hit by a falling tree on Memorial Day, and is in critical condition.
