Drop Into Christmas

Vine Street at the Movies will celebrate the holiday season with a classic 1950s comedy, The Lemon Drop Kid. The event takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

Based on a Damon Runyan story, Bob Hope stars in this tale of a Florida horse track hustler who scams the wrong dame and gets into big trouble. The Christmas season in New York provides the setting for a scheme he hopes will remedy his problem—and for the introduction of “Silver Bells,” a song that would be associated with him for many years afterwards. The film is great fun from the master of the one-liner, so come out to join us! Jim Carls is our host.
