Monday Men
Join us for a burger and beer at M.L.Rose on Charlotte on Monday, August 5, at 6 p.m. Monday Men is a monthly opportunity to drop in, enjoy a beverage, and talk with other Vine Street men about our day, things going on in the world, or the latest movie. If you’d like to hear some more, please contact Thomas.
Vine Street at the Movies, led by Jim Carls, will gather on Wednesday, August 7, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bride’s Room to watch Stan & Ollie. This acclaimed 2018 film, rated PG, covers the later years of one of entertainment’s most famous and well-loved comedy duos, including the wear and tear that a long career can take on a complex friendship. Film critic Michael Phillips, The Chicago Tribune, wrote, “The grace and tact with which Reilly and Coogan create their versions of these men never pushes for effect. It’s a modest film, but a very good one, and by the end I was quite moved by its valiant belief in decency and in the duo’s eternal appeal.” Please contact Jim Carls if you have any questions about this group which meets monthly.
